(ANS - Brussels) - “Don Bosco International” (DBI) has officially joined the European Commission's “Pact for Skills”. The Pact was launched several months ago. After gathering some members from within the European network of Salesian vocational training, the DBI sent the joint application and yesterday, 22 July, the European Commission informed them that it had been approved.
Spain - Spanish missionary in Senegal, Fr Carlos Berro Indurain, talks about the pandemic and Salesian work in Africa
(ANS - Sarriguren) - Fr Carlos Berro Indurain is a Spanish Salesian missionary in Africa. He has held the role of Provincial Economer in Senegal, in the Salesian presence in Thies, and from August he will go to Gambia. Fr Berro has been in Africa since 1997 and, with the exception of one year spent in Rome, the rest of the years he has spent in Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal; soon he will also get to know Gambia. Slovakia - Pope Francis to meet Roma at Salesian house in Košice-Luník IX
(ANS - Košice) - From the presentation of the program of Pope Francis' apostolic visit to Slovakia from 12 to 15 September 2021, it was announced that on Tuesday 14 September the Holy Father will meet the Roma community at the Salesian house in the Luník IX district in Košice, a suburban neighborhood with the largest Roma population in Slovakia. The Salesians of Don Bosco have been present in the place since 2008. Fr Peter Bešenyei, Delegate for the Pastoral Care of Roma in the Salesian Province of Slovakia (SLK) and Secretary of the Slovak Episcopal Commission for Roma and Minorities, expects the participation of thousands of Roma from all over Slovakia.
